Full and partial dentures replace missing teeth with a removable appliance designed around your mouth, bite, and appearance. The right option depends on how many teeth are missing and the health of the remaining teeth and gums.
Full Dentures
A full denture replaces all teeth in the upper or lower arch. It rests on the gums and can help restore appearance, speech, chewing, and facial support. Adjustments are often needed as tissues heal and change.
Partial Dentures
A partial denture replaces several missing teeth while using the remaining teeth for support. Designs and materials vary, and the appliance is removed for cleaning.
What to Expect
- Evaluation: We examine your teeth, gums, bite, and current denture, then discuss which teeth can be maintained.
- Records and design: Impressions or digital scans and bite records guide the fit, tooth position, and appearance.
- Fit and follow-up: We check comfort, speech, bite, and function. New dentures commonly require adjustments while you adapt.
Daily Care
- Brush the denture with a soft denture brush and an appropriate cleanser.
- Clean your gums, tongue, and any remaining teeth every day.
- Keep the denture in water or a recommended solution when it is out, unless instructed otherwise.
- Do not force a denture that feels distorted or no longer seats correctly; call for an adjustment.
- Continue regular exams so we can check the mouth, fit, bite, and denture condition.
Considering Implant Support?
Implants may help stabilize a removable denture or support a fixed full-arch bridge. A $49 implant consultation includes an assessment/exam and X-rays for the initial evaluation, helping us compare snap-in dentures, fixed All-on-X solutions, and conventional options. Additional imaging or treatment, if needed, is separate.
